Other larger cities: Łódź (800,00), Kraków (750,000), Wrocław (630,000), Poznań (570,000), Gdańsk (456,000). 

Terrain: Flat plain, except mountains along southern border. 

Climate: moderate continental.

Population: 39 million. 

Ethnicity (percentage): Polish 97.6, German 1.3, Ukrainian 0.6, Belorussian 0.5.
